But, fell foul of fashion and got rid of the Benelli s1 gun in favour of a Mossberg 930. I then remembered why I got rid of the Remy 1100 in the first place! I prefer the inertia system in a semi. But, when examining what I want in a "Practical" gun, I found myself going back to a Remy 870! My original I'd had for 20 years. It started life as a 20" slug gun, with wooden furniture!
So speaking with saddler, we did some horse trading for a s1 870. He Duracoated the barrel and reciever and I got it from him a month or so ago.
It had a 28" barrel and appalling furniture, but I planned to replace both anyway, so not a worry. I'm looking for a Hogue Stock set in green, but it's becoming problematic to find. But anyway, got a 24" barrel and swapped the furniture for a Blackhawk Knoxx set.
So here's the "Halfway House" 870 so far. I quite like it, but it will change again, once more parts materialise...
