On Winans Range at Bisley

Out of use for 2 yrs +

Nick's staff are clearing, repainting, connecting power ...

I went with a RWS gas cartridge air pistol to test ricochet charateristics of the targets. We made a couple of changes and have a historic range (W Winans was a 1908 Olympic Pistol shot) back in use.

Saturday, the range is open for the public at the NRA Open Day.

What is it to be used for? Is that the one near Bisley Gun Club?

Been playing at Robins Lodge on the Stanta complex :good:
Had lots of fun shooting fig.11's with;
K98
K31
Ruger VT 223
Winchester 1873 45LC
Fantastic weather all day (a bit hot for a lardy like me thou!), great company and lots of interesting things to see on the drive through the battle area, although being caught up in a convoy of fully loaded Jackals was a bit surreal-Jesus those things look mean. Luckily they realized that we were tooled up and pulled over to let us through bangbang

P.s. Shoulder is a bit sore after getting through 130 rounds on the K98!

I must of had a moment of insanity earlier...i dragged everything out of the cabinets and cleaned/oiled them all. :o Including a shotgun which i freely admit to having not cleaned in excess of 12 months. :shifty:

I think i need to have a lay down now.

Cheers DOugan.

Checked out a range near Tucson for future classes..all very nice and compact. Enjoyed the sun whilst F16's and A10's from nearby Davis Monthan AFB flow overhead en route for the aerial gunnery range...Methings THAT should be on the bucket list.

Plucking up courage to clean the Sig,......just realised about 1500 rounds since last clean..BAD Chuck!

God the nod on a load of potential new toys for sale...more on that next week.
