And of course the vicar who was stabbed to death a few days ago at his home for unknown reasons:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-17084845
Police investigating the murder of a vicar have named a "dangerous" suspect and appealed for help in finding him.

Det Ch Insp Simon Crisp said Avon and Somerset Police wanted to speak to Stephen Farrow over the stabbing of the Reverend John Suddards near Bristol.

He said anyone who saw the 47-year-old, who is white and 6ft 4ins tall, should not approach him but should call 999.

Mr Suddards, 59, was found stabbed to death in his vicarage at St Mary's Church, Thornbury, on Tuesday.

[...]

The body of Mr Suddards, a former barrister, was found by builders at his vicarage on Castle Street.

Avon and Somerset Police said the builders, on a planned job, had been given a key by a caretaker.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Suddards had died from "multiple stab wounds".

Like fish in a barrel. No deterrent or severe punishment for those of a mind to commit these crimes.

What it means in reality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RLifUrW ... re=related

Time that blustering oaf Cameron put his money where his mouth is and started allowing us defensive weapons just like the police have.

Possible pair of home invasion murders in Southport:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-me ... e-17126485
A second body has been discovered in Southport a day after a woman was found dead at a property in the Merseyside resort.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering the woman found dead in Lonsdale Road on Tuesday.

Police said as a result of further inquiries, the second woman was found at a home in Birch Street.

Both women are believed to be in their 80s, although they have yet to be formally identified.

[...]

Ch Supt Nikki Holland said officers were "following a number of lines of inquiry".

Responding to a suggestion that the deaths may be related to a burglary on Jane's Brook Road, she said the force was "keeping an open mind in relation to whether other incidents may be related or not".

She added that she wanted to "reassure residents, particularly older residents, who live in the area where these addresses are located that we have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance and support".
I'm sure those extra patrols will cut the time it takes for police to turn up and draw around those unarmed, older residents with chalk.

A man broke into a woman's home and tortured her to death to get her to reveal her pin number (she did give him the number but he killed her anyway... "Just give them what they want,"):

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-sout ... s-17349628
A 66-year-old woman from Pembrokeshire was tortured to death by a man who needed money to pay for his wedding, a jury at Swansea Crown Court has heard.

Angelika Dries-Jenkins, who lived alone in Narberth, was killed by John William Mason from nearby Llandissilio in June last year it is claimed.

He was due to get married days after the murder and withdrew £1,000 from the victim's bank accounts.

Patrick Harrington QC, for the prosecution, told the jury Ms Dries-Jenkins lived next door to Mr Mason's mother.

It is alleged on 1 June last year he caught a bus from his house to Narberth and then walked to her home, where he battered her around the head with a blunt instrument.

He tortured her to get her to reveal her pin number before stealing her handbag and her car, leaving her dead or dying, the jury was told.

Had one last week in my village

Not many details as yet, but while it was mentioned on the local TV news - nothing on the main police website.

From what I have heard, two armed men gained entry to a house & stole cash - luckily the occupants were not harmed. Will post more info as I find it

I used to work away from home and travel back Friday nights, one week it looked like I was not getting home so I wasn't expected back, in the end I managed to get away and arrived home about 2am. Got in, went upstairs, got into bed in the dark to avoid waking my ex and promply cracked my head on something, putting the light on I found my Beretta 92 lying on my pillow, full mag, one in the chamber and safety off!.

Apparently (even though she wasn't keen on guns) she'd been putting it there every night I was away :cool2: I wasn't sure what to say, in the end I think I told her she'd be better off putting the .44mag there instead as it had more stopping power!.
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
