Home invasions

#1 Post by Porcupine »

I thought I would start a topic to act as a repository for details of home invasions* in the UK. Firstly because there can often be a perception that these things do not happen, and secondly because knowing how these things can happen may help to avoid or deal with them.

Here is one today:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-16455053
A 65-year-old man has died in an attack after he answered the door to his flat in Brighton.

The attack at the flat at Caledonian Court took place just after 22:00 GMT on Friday.

Police said the man's partner called 999 saying the man had been assaulted by two men.

Officers have begun a murder inquiry. They said no weapons were used in the attack and they were trying to establish a motive.

Det Ch Insp Nick May, from Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said two men had "barged into" the home and a fight had broken out.

He said the men may have been seen shortly after the attack running through Caledonian Court.

He added: "Following the attack the victim died a short time later at his home."

Mr May said a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out on Sunday into the cause of the man's death.
Feel free to post any stories you come across.

*Which I'll define for the purposes of this thread as when someone (whether known to the occupant or not) enters a home, by force or through deception, and intentionally kills, wounds, tortures, rapes, or sexually assaults someone, or threatens to do so.

An old fella was knocked down and killed with his own car in lanarkshire a few weeeks before Xmas when a yobbo broke into the home whilst the old fella and the wife were in. He took the car keys and tried to steal the car (landy??) The old fella was run over when he tried to stop him. Police say it was a random break-in, which is of course highly inaccurate.

The fact that the folks were in would class it as a "home invasion" when technically (well strictly speaking) ANY unlawful enrty into your home is a "home invasion".

Driving down the A10 Sunday there was a house cordoned off with police outside. A 76 year old had been beaten to death.

Something is needed to deter these people (animals), because they obviously think it is ok and perfectly normal for them to be doing this.
What is a Sapper? This versatile genius condenses the whole system of military engineering and all that is useful and practical. He is a man of all work of the Army and the public ready to do anything or go anywhere, in short, he is a Sapper.

The noose or whatever is a PUNISHMENT, not a deterrent.

The possibility of getting your face /upper torso full of buckshot or whatever from a legally armed occupier who will not be charged with your murder, or indeed anything..would be a much better deterrent.

Maybe it would make scrotes think twice, maybe not. But at the end of the day getting shot would be THEIR fault for committing the crime so punishment would be meted out there and then. Of course for those who choose NOT to avail themselves of the right to defence there are still the other options i.e police, coroner etc.

Forget about baseball bats, knives, amrtial arts etc etc..the great equaliser is the gun, ANY gun.

Of course our Criminal Protection Services will never allow it, despite the FACTS!
