A shooter told me about using .32 S&W long rounds with lead bullets in an unmodified .310 cadet. I was skeptical but gave it a try. It works just fine! The lead bullets are so soft that they upset in the bore and give great accuracy. The cases bulge but extract without a problem and due to the low pressure of the round almost never split and can be easily resized and reloaded. I now reload the .32 long cases with a swaged 90gr .314 Horndary semi wadcutter bullet and use 2.4gr of Unique powder. It sounds like a popgun when it fires and gives great accuracy out to 50 yds. I was worried about a bullet running out of steam and getting stuck in the bore but they all exit just fine. I always make sure that there is a hole in the paper target for each shot! The only problem for me is that it is so enjoyable to shoot that I can go through 50 rounds easy in a shooting trip which means I have to sit down and load up more!
