I ended up making the platform for the gas torch instead... A bit more work yet but it is looking OK so far.
Re: Next project
Thats all looking really good Dave - So how are you going to finish it, Engine turned, anodised, polished or natural?
Now you just need a little clicky gizmo the racks up a counter as they drop down the hole.

Re: Next project
Good timing, these just turned up in the post. Downside is I have developed man flu so today is not going to be a quality shed day.

Sounds like your body is telling you to have a rest.
Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Next project
Those look like neat motors, especially with the integrated gearbox. Were they expensive?

Re: Next project
Two including delivery for GBP19.00. They are 24vDC 10RPM one for the turning station and one for the drive, they are available from 600RPM down to 6RPM with a good spread of output speeds in-between. I am impressed with the build quality as well as the price, they are put together very nicely and ideal for little projects like this.Scotsgun wrote:Those look like neat motors, especially with the integrated gearbox. EDIT - They were from eBlag, look for 37mm 24V DC 10RPM Gear Box Motor
Re: Next project
Just checked, they were actually GBP19.00 for the two plus GBP4.50 for the two posted, so GBP23.50 total.
