OAL gauges
I have managed to get the right feed gears in for the lathe so I tried them out today building a couple of OAL gauges. They just need the thumb screws fitting and the measuring slots cutting, then a good polish and they are ready to go.

Re: OAL gauges
Are you to be selling these?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Re: OAL gauges
I will be very shortly mostly to fund my machine tool addiction
I am currently wrapping up a couple of jobs and will then start building up a list of modest items such as these. My plan is to offer a better item for less money, in an ideal world no more than 65% of the going rate which is doable as long as I try not to think of the time I spend on them.
Mostly it is for pleasure, it keeps my mind active and if I can make items for myself I can make them for others.

I'll have one for 308 when they are ready. What about bore guides along the lines of the Lucas model?

Re: OAL gauges
I have just finished building a rod guide for Accuracy International actions, it is a 'close' copy to those issued. The Lucas guides are very nice and incredibly easy to build something similar, with inserts to suit, the problem is I cannot form the slot yet. I need a small Mill and it is on the shopping list as I have a whole load of things I could use it for.Mike357 wrote:I'll have one for 308 when they are ready.
