slug loadings

All handloading data posted on Full-Bore UK from 23/2/2021 must reference the published pressure tested data it was sourced from, posts without such verification will be removed.

It says fixed or fibre wads only no plastic shot cups.

Gas seals aren't cups....ickle discs...
Or I could glue the wads to the slug....
Looking into fibre wads & casting larger dia. Lyman slugs, etc.
More to increase self sufficiency than get away from plastic wad bans...

Just had a note round from the NTSA about the Southern Championships to be held at Bisley on 12 March.
...... there is a limit on plastic wad ammunition. Basically no home loads with plastic cup wads. Gecco and S&B slug with plastic wads are allowed.
........ Expect to be checked on these two matters when shooting at Bisley, I have been informed that staff are going to carry regular checks.
Looks like all homeloaded slug with plastic wad is banned.
I'll put my recipe for Lee slug and fibre wads on shortly.

Plastic "cup wad" is one thing....plastic obturator discs are another.
Need to check with NTSA about t.he latter as they are NOT cups.

Strange that the factory slug sold in the NRA shop is exempt

That'll be because the rifled slug they sell the plastic bit is attached soooooooo in theory should disappear into the back stop.

The S+B slug that i've tried in my Franchi semi has neither cycled the action nor does it go anywhere my poa unlike my own loads so obviously I wouldn't want to go down that route.

so would the Gualandi DGS type slugs still be ok, as the plastic wad is held the same, also like the BPI thug slug siarm sell....
