Has the result been found in mainstream press yet?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Not yet - but, poking through the Times and Telegraph, Tony de Launay had some success in getting us covered in previous years:

Re: World Championships Live scores and results
Final results from the individual world Championships.
Ben Emms of Australia is the World Champion. Nigel Ball of GB second, Matt Pozzebon of Australia third, Jon Tapster of GB fourth. Scores and other places at http://compete.nra.org/perryscores/default.aspx?mid=600
Ben Emms went into the final with a staggering 1 off over eight 15-round shoots at 800, 900 and 1000 yards in some seriously challenging conditions. He then set off at a cracking pace knocking the centre out until a strange 6 o'clock 3 appeared. Suddenly the other competitors in the final -all starting at least 4 off - were back in with a chance. And - the wind changed and he got an outer (3 points lost in one shot). Nigel Ball had finished with a 74. Ems needed 2 bulls and an inner in his last 3 shots to win, and took a big break before firing three very deliberate shots as the last couple of minutes of the time allowance ticked away, winning by a point and 2 v-bulls. A classic recovery and demonstration of how to hold your nerve when the pressure is really on.
And in the under-25 World Championships, Jack Alexander and Chloe Evans, both of GB, were first and second. Angus Martin of Australia was third and Gareth Davies of GB fourth.
