The America Match starts very shortly at Camp Perry, Ohio. This prestigious Target Rifle match is contested every other year between USA and Canada, and any other invited national team. Course of fire 2 sighters and fifteen to count at 300, 600, 900 and 1000 yards, teams of 10, 2 targets per team. Live scores here:

Amazing, After one distance GB have 1-off left in the guns (last 2 firers still to finish), with USA (finished) 11-off, but AUS cleaned the distance. It's a 2-horse race at this point.

Given the scores in yesterday's matches, I predict it will, as usual, all be won and lost at 1000 yards.

America match

After 300 and 600, GB on 1198 ex 1200 lead by 3 from Australia, 11 from South Africa, 13 from New Zealand and 14 from USA. Canada, Germany, West Indies and Japan follow. Weather is fine with a developing right wind and some solid clouds building. There will be a lunch break - match will recommence in about 40 minutes or so.

Under-21 match

Scores are coming from the official stats, rather than direct input on the range. After 300 yds USA on 247 ex 250 led GB by 3 points.

For those not familiar with how this type of match typically progresses, in the America match GB and Australia are very close, the next three are not out of the running. SA in particular obviously had a bad 300 but went clean at 600 so may be well in contention. In the U21 match, 3 points at 300 is no indicator of how it might turn out - it is all too easy to lose 3 points on a single shot at 1000 yards.
