Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

Made an old bored git laugh on a tuesday morning....4 days and a wakeup

Actually I am lucky enough to have an Elcan (got it cheap or I would not have bothered). Phenominal little scope but the red dot only gets switched on at zero distance (100) or there's a tendency for mr brain to get drawn at longer ranges and use the wrong POA...well...I say brain....
OK, you cannot put wind on but I am perfectly happy aiming off as there is blenty of stadia for elevation reference.
Took a while to work out matching my ammo to the ret but as it turns out I only need 1 click down past 300 and they all fall into an acceptable POI for CSR out to 600. Turns out that as its calibrated in metres, and the 77s loop moer than SS109, they are quite close. Good enough for service use, needs that extra click for a 12" bull.

I've not jumped in till now as I've only just received the delivery of sights today! I shoot indoors at 25m and don't usually have anyone shooting back at me, I'm not an operator, I do have a bit of a beard though!Sixshot6 wrote:I'd like to know what people think of them? I know they are uk made and get good reviews. I'm interested in the mini shield to go on the vz58 scout style when the mount from Canada comes (it's coming by boat, possibly next month). The mini one with a 65 moa circle with a 1 moa dot in the middle is what I'm interested in. I see they are used as backups on SA80's by the army when its a bit too close for the Trijicons/Elcans? They must have some quality to have been sold with the Trijicon branding in the US.
To test, I bought a spanky new S&W MP15-22 MOE and mounted one of the 65 MOA ring SMS sights on a fully stacked polymer base. You get a choice of 3 heights with the tallest just being able to co-witness with the MBUS sights on the S&W. Mounting is solid, there's a ton of bolts for different height configurations along with two hex keys. One for mounting the other for windage/drop adjustment. The thing that stood out was how small and light the sight is, I really got them in for LBP use, but as the main red-dot on the S&W it was really rather good.
In our fairly well lit indoor range the ring and centre dot was really bright, certainly draws your eye to the right part and is easy to lock on target. Windage / drop adjustment is fiddly, not a lot of movement with the hex key equates to quite a bit of movement on the target. Once dialled in though it certainly seems to work okay. I put about 400 rounds through the gun using it tonight and I like it. It's a very different experience to say a SPARC as it feels more basic but I have to say I prefer the dots/display with the Shield.
Without sounding too biased if I'd bought it with my own money (I suppose I did really) I don't think I'd be disappointed. It is only the first outing, so I guess time will tell but as a first encounter it was what I was expecting. When the LBP is fixed up I'll chuck one on there too and report back.

Leupold prismatic. Bomb proof. Lifetime guarantee and if your batteries go flat, the reticule is etched, so you're not left in the dark.
Got a Leupold Delta Point on a rimfire as well. Nice little piece of kit, but expensive...

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
