Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
No other party is going to review our pistol law or even is saying they will....that is the point folks..... :goodjob: sign92
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!
Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
I am glad I started this thread, many thanks to all who have taken up the challenge, its must have a few heads scratching at UKIP head office, wondering were the hell all this is all coming from!
Perhaps, we can influence their policy in this area, as we enter the home leg of the general election race. .....a bit miffed that despite heading out on a really s*** evening to attend an open meeting and writing four emails (so far) I have received no response whatsoever regarding firearm policy!!!
Firearms policy emails going out to Labour, Lib Dems and the Tory's today.....

Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
There's an article in the latest BASC magazine stating "full support" to shooting by the three main parties.
Bear in mind, though, that a pat on the back is a recce for the knife...

Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
BASC are a bit thick in that regard. Every time they talk to Labour they come back full of the "shooting is assured under Labour" spiel and then a week later Das Partei comes out saying they want to attack us even more.
I don't know whether BASC are just gullible or naive in this area.

Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
All our "representative" organisations seem to be apologists and appeasers to governmental attacks on legitimate gun owners.
None of them are championing the crucial issue of legal gun ownership, they see it as an uncomfortable but necessary adjunct to the shooting "discipline".
They are cowardly, selfish (keep their jobs and an easy life) and short sighted and it will all be at our expense.

Well chaps,
I have sent an email to all three of the current, (Lib dems for not much longer!) main parties, asking for their position regarding the firearms act, what changes/reforms they propose to make, I will report back the responses..
"cowardly, selfish (keep their jobs and an easy life) and short sighted"......you missed greedy and narcissistic liars, I believe this is the Oxford English dictionary definition of "Politician" Adam!!

Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
I'll disagree with that. The Countryside Alliance went in to bat for all of us over the police random spot check campaign, talking to the Home Office and getting MPs on side to ask questions directly of Theresa May. BASC, meanwhile, sat back and said "no problem here" - even though two years ago they were mobilising their members to tell North Wales Police where they could shove an identical random spot check scheme. It seems to me that BASC's attitude is "if it's written in official documents it must be OK".dromia wrote:All our "representative" organisations seem to be apologists and appeasers to governmental attacks on legitimate gun owners.

They don't shout about it in press releases but the CA does a lot of good work for lawful firearms ownership behind the scenes, as does the BSSC. Whether the powers that be have any interest in listening is another question, sadly.

Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
Maybe so and good luck to them if they have.
However it doesn't seem good on the ground, MoD range access is continuing to become more problematical and firearms licensing authorities seem to be making things up as they go along to inconvenience and sicken shooters and no one seems to willing or able to hold them to account.
The scumbag media plies its anti legally held firearms agenda without any coherent rebuttals from the "organisations".
The plethora of vested interest "national" organisations works against us not for us.
The victories that the odd organisation and individuals have are in the overall scheme of things Pyrrhic.

Re: UKIP Firearms Policy
Just heard back from the Conservatives, this is their response, a polite but pointless.... "Our plans for the Firearm act will be announced in our forthcoming manifesto."
Still nothing from UKIP, Labour or the Lib Dems..
