I use 5.4gr of TiteGroup for reduced loads in the 44mag with the 200grn LRNFP bullets and get very good results, low ES and it uses about half the powder you do with HS6.

Here's a link to some 44mag reduced loads using HS6, http://www.chuckhawks.com/hs6_44mag_reloads.htm

As I said those are for reduced load 44mag, IMO a better option than using 44spl. 200gr shoot very nicely with reduced loads, using 5.4 of TiteGroup they were around 880fps with an ES of 13 in my Henry BigBoy. The 240gr with the same load drops to around 750fps with a larger ES.

If you've already got 44spl cases etc. then 6.5 to 7.5gr of HS6 will give around 760 to 870fps so nice enough to shoot all day for 25m gallery :good:

Sounds good, was using HS6 in my .38spl Rossi and was getting good groups. I also have two tubs of it so want to try it with the .44 before I go spending out more money on different powders.

I was given 100 rounds of .44 from a mate and they are very accurate (90-96 standing) I think he uses Tight-group but not 100%, sure he'll coment on here and put me right troutslapping

Just need to get time to load a few and try them out

thanks

6.0gns of Unique, 240gn LSWC.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
