Offering push daggers for sale is a criminal offence.

Their site also has a few disguised knives available; again, even listing such items is an offence.
Ignorance of the law is not an excuse....basic lack of attention to detail or something else?
They're not alone in the UK though. ..the Blackhawk importers brought quite a few similar push daggers post-ban: not enough knowledge of the law of the land...

simply having an telescoping baton at home WITHOUT INTENDING TO SELL it is not an offence
...er, righto!! kukkuk kukkuk

And your point is what?
My posts have NEVER ONCE mentioned telescopic batons (until now): and MidwayUK selling illegal items IS SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT to an individual keeping items in their own homes...

I may have been mistaken that the firm which this thread concerns are an actively trading business...from your new information I stand corrected: they are in fact an individual with a badly formatted webpage based list of their privately owned collection.

ITS OBVIOUS NOW YOU SAY IT...

offensive weapons are generally NOT subject to general prohibition (except things mationed under section 5 eg. papper spray) the prevention of crime act made it an offense to have an offensive weapon without reasonable excause or lawfully authority in a public place ! this where the term 'offensive weapon' was invented. what you taking about is importing weapons. Certain offensive weapons are banned from importing but not merely possession it! thus if one was to buy from midway, for example a telecoping baton which banned from importation, and it slips through and later on the police found out you had one these in your house then they cannot charge you for simply having it on your possession !

I don't like to guess things when it relates to something quite so serious, but some of these prohibited items don't have prices next to them, so there may not be a history of them being brought in from the US arm of the company. They have a price for pistol bayonets though! :o

Here a link to the 2004 amendment to the 1988 act, make of it what you will!

I'm still confused re batons. This type:

Image

Were the ones banned under the 1988 act when there was a fad for banning martial arts weapons. But that 2004 amendment appears to include the police 'friction lock' type;

Image

However, that 2004 says; "Consequently it is now an offence under section 141 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, for a person to manufacture, sell, import, hire, offer for sale or hire, expose or have in their possession for the purpose of sale or hire or lend or give to any other person a stealth knife or a truncheon."

I read that to mean simple possession isn't an offence? Is it therefore not an offence for the simple possession of a flick knife, knuckle duster etc as well?
