I've been issued S&B scopes, i was once even issued a Handstodt (which i later learned was a Zeiss which was for testing), the yanks (god bless their ignorance) have even been issued Leupolds but i have never met anyone nor heard of Nighforce scopes being issued.

I stand by my comment. The Belgians, Germans, French and us all had a chance to view the scopes and found them generally far inferior in poor light conditions.

Scotsgun...

I have never owned an S&B scope so I really can't comment on how they compare to the Nightforce. I did get to shoot a L96a1 with a S&B on the top.
I was waiting to shoot a range office target at 1000x Stickledown. I arrived early and the chap was still shooting on the target that I was to shoot on. the only other shooters were three soldiers they were shooting at a figure11 target. so I wandered over for a chat. After a while they offered me a 'cabby', gave me five rounds of green spot. The first round I pulled and
called it miss to the left/right can't remember. (not used to the trigger) it was lovely to hear the marker call the next four shots.. ''centre of mass''

Yes, clearly identifiable as a Nightforce NXS.

Wow - thanks for reminding me Jenks - 1.5 miles not 1500 yards!

It would be good to have a look at a few images at that distance with a few of the top scopes. Might try it.

There was a recent Youtube of some Americans or Canadians trying to recreate the UK sniper shot at 2700m with a .338, maybe someone has a link to it?
