Gaz, shame on you. If you read the article, you would have noticed that this took place north of the border. We don't have magistrates up here. Silly billy!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

And pointing a loaded firearm at someone should surely qualify for the mandatory 5yrs inside unless Scotland has different firearms legislation for this as well.
Nothing was proven about how they came into possession of the deer; I have found deer at the side of the road in the past; no charges proven with regard to the 3 other deer.
As for the Breach, how would you have reacted if you'd just come back from a zeroing session with your rifle and were agressively accosted & outnumbered 3 to 2 by some hairy arsed scottish forestry workers????? At least 3 sides to every story.
"Breach of the Peace", as most Scots are aware, is an easy option offence for the cops to charge you with.
Re: Poachers in Perthshire
Absolutely - The article is written very suggestively - It says that "the Sheriff was told", which when you first read it makes the following statements appear reported as fact...but what it actually means is that the following statements are the estate worker's accusations, so not the words of the Sheriff, not fact, and not proven.Andy632 wrote: At least 3 sides to every story.
It is possible that the shooter did 'accidentally on purpose' wave the barrel in the worker's direction while he was making it safe to make them feel uncomfortable - and even if he knew it was a spent case in the chamber, that would be a serious matter...but it's one groups word against another...
Personally, I find it difficult to believe they found all the deer at the side of the road.

I was considering a career change to being an estate agent or a politician so people would stop spitting at me in the street... tongueoutDougan wrote:Gaz - One of the things I really like about you, is that as a journo you're even less popular than a treehugger razz
