Went to Crossroads of the West gunshow in Phoenix yesterday, not a big show by US standards but lots of lovely stuff that we cannot have..and the prices..JEEZ, we ARE screwed in the UK.
500 rounds .223 FMJ, $150 all in................hope it shoots well..
great to see folks walking about carrying guns, wee signs on their back saying what they had for sale......
Lodsa black gun stuff, every configuration of AR ever invented, every accessory for an AR ever invented and of course rare mags..like Sten Guns, FAL' etc..
Some Zombie stuff there INC Zombi ammo cans....and of course Zombie reactive targets.
Took the mounts off my leupold in prep for sending it back to them for repair..seemed as though the elevation turret had gone AWOL...whilst cleaning it up I twiddled the windage knob...hmm same..no click movement....
One wee turn with an allen key later and BOTH knobs working fine..DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I needed that scope on the course, GRR..talk about missing the obvious!!! And I've just removed the mounts too...Ah well, something to do at the range on Thursday...

Having now lifted the suspension of new members due to the popularity of the web site and the bottleneck of probationers, we have lifted this and I have been inviting prospective new members up to the range.
Interest and membership is very healthy and continues to rise. If your club hasn't got a website then get one, well worth the effort and soooo easy to set up and run. Ours cost £60 a year and has generated way in excess of that.

Well,
I managed to sneak off for an hour this afternoon (Which was actually closer to 3 time I got home
) and visit Mike at Calton Moor, I had some loads I needed to test in preparation for next Wednesday, when I am off to try for my first "English Red stag"
After some tweaking finally settled on 45g of IMR 4831 pushing the 129g Interlocks at 2850fps for 2345 ft/lbs - was more than happy with the groups at 100yds (This combo was putting 5 rounds touching) some of the loads were all over the place, which was quite an eye opener using .3gr increments.
I also had a batch of 142gr SMK again using IMR 4831 - but these were loaded longer 3.150" settled on 43gr load for these and these were tighter groups than the Interlocks, just a shame that I can't use these on Bambi!
So happy with loads, scope zero'd at 175yds (1" high at 100yds - confirmed) - just need the weather gods to be kind now on Wednesday and I'll hopefully come across a nice stag for the freezer?!

Showed Mrs 357 how to de-prime my 44 brass. She did some priming but decided her nails get in the way and quit after 12.

I started an archery class, and I must say, I bloody enjoyed myself. Turns out I can shoot pretty well with an arrow.

I'm off down the range shortly for our weekly Historic Arms morning.
Shooting, take, share and show; tea, coffee and cakeys. :shakeshout:
I'll be taking a BSA Sportsman 5 with a German ZF4 scope on it.
