New Rifle Today - SIG 522 SWAT (Pictures)

#1 Post by judders »

Picked up my new rifle today, a SIG 522 SWAT. :shakeshout: Didn't get a chance to shoot it, but will try to get to the range on Saturday. I've added an EoTech HWS XPS 2 and Magpul angled fore grip. Roll on Saturday!! tongueout

Well done Judders, I'm feeling pangs of jealousy as I have a vacant .22 slot and feel the need to fill it with something semi-auto painted black

I would genuinely like some good honest feed back on how you get on with it. I had one of the Colt M4's a couple of years ago which was ok but a pain to keep clean which led to feeding issues etc.

Cheers and enjoy your new toy :goodjob: :goodjob:

All being well, I'll be spending Saturday morning at the range, so I'll let you know how I get on. :good:

Cleaning the 522 is really easy, the rifle pivots when the takedown pin is pushed out, and the cocking handle/bolt removes in seconds to provide excellent access to the receiver.

However, a word to the wise, source some 1/8" e-clips now as it's only a matter of time before you'll need one. ;)

Is the take down pin the same size as the ones on the AR15? If so I have some quick release pins for them which are super bling.

Ballistol, thanks for the e-clip tip. :good:

Ovenpaa, dunno as I've never owned an AR-15. But...the takedown pins don't remove completely from the lower, they're attached. So not sure if you could easily replace them.

Nice! Is the railed foreguard aftermarket or are they making one with it on now? Looks SO much better than the standard one tongueout

Did you ever get around to buying one of those Sightmark magnifiers? A 'friend of a friend' has one he's promised to let me have a go of, possibly this weekend, will be interesting to see the lens quality is like

Very nice. I too have a vacant .22 slot so would love to hear what you think of it once you've put a few through it.

It's bog standard, the 'SWAT' version comes with the quad rail: http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductD ... -swat.aspx

I couldn't make my mind up on the magnifier, so didn't get one in the end. I'm going to hold off until I can try one too, so I'd be really interested to hear how you get on with your friend's one.

I've got a pass for Saturday, so I'm definitely off to the range. tongueout Will let you know how it goes.
