New Sightron reticles available
Without much a doo Sightron have released at least 3 more reticles into their current line up of SIII scopes.
I am afraid that you will have to look at them for yourself here as I could not work out how to cut and paste them for you.

Of interest to me is one that looks a bit like the Nightforce NP-r1/2 reticle, but it could be a lot busier, which would be a turn off.
If I am not mistaken they are also doing a scope in Mil Rad which I don't think they have done before.
Unfortunately they have not taken this opportunity to give the new scopes larger turrets, like the S&B PMII 5-25X. I believe that there is a growing demand for turrets that complete their whole elevation movement in 2 turns.
Still excellent scopes for the money and I continue to keep half an eye on them as the Night Force prices steadily rise,

Re: New Sightron reticles available
This is the reticle for the SIIISS1050X60LRIRMOA and it does look rather busy.

The tall bloke shoots with a Sightron with a plain reticle and he is not totally happy about the turrets (He still took a medal at the Europeans!) He has explained a couple of times but I need to get my hands on it fully understand his concerns. I found the glass crisp with nice colour when I looked through it and they are light which means less worries about coming on weight.

Re: New Sightron reticles available
The lines as denoted by e, f and G remind me of the types of lines you see on the sniper scopes, for estimating the hight / distance of targets. Why the feel it is necessary on the scopes with magnifications as high as these avoids me.

Re: New Sightron reticles available
I have the NP1-RR on my 12-42BR and it is also rather busy, however at GBP650 with rings and a Blackhawk dragbag thrown in for good measure I was hardly going to complain. The problem with such reticles is in high stress situations you could shoot off the wrong aim point....

Re: New Sightron reticles available
But are the scopes any good - how do they comapre with Zeiss, Swaro, S&B, etc?
I've shot through an older example but have yet to try a newer one.

Re: New Sightron reticles available
The new reticule are actually something that John of AIM Field and I asked for last year at IWA. The mini stadia are designed to be exactly 1 moa apart at near max magnification and 2 moa at a lower mag in the Sightron I think it is 24 and 48 power. This instantly gives you windage or elevation corrections at very distance without having to try and work it out. It is the same as the March scope I use and it really is simple.
Re: New Sightron reticles available
Sanslem, do you find the turrets of the Sightron odd in any way? I am used to single turn turrets, but also run a Nightforce but I cannot see the Sightron would be very different to it turret wise.

Slight Hijack Here
I like the look of the Nikkon Monarch III 5-20 x 44 with BDC reticle and am considering buying one for a .270.
Rob I seem to remember you recomending them on GT, also giving a link for a US site that will send them over here & that it works out cheaper than UK shops even after paying full duty.
Your opinion & the link would be appreciated.
