Have a word with Jon17 or JDReloading.com - he was doing some good deals recently.
Re: cheapest fmj bullets
I get most of mine for general plinking & practice from Tim Hannams
I'd not tried the heavier (62-grn) ACE brand in 223 - so bought 500 of them to try - then forgot I'd loaded some once-fired RG cases with them.
SPOT ON the money at the last shoot I had - all in the bull - had a look at a few unfired ones, thinking I must have been using a SMK load - nope, it was the ACE bullet.
They offer a few of the same brand in a range of 308 weights and one in 303 too
Well worth the small outlay that they cost

I can recommend JDReloading - Just got the best deal on .303 Privi fmjs I could find anywhere...and the service was excellent

Re: cheapest fmj bullets
An old shooter of some repute told me years ago, the secret to rifle accuracy is a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel. Everything else is icing.....
I think it's fair to say there are two thing in the shooting world where you really get what you pay for, glass and bullets. Cheap does not equate to quality. But then, if the guns you are loading for don't have quality barrels, then everything I've said doesn't matter!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: cheapest fmj bullets
Quite right Sim, but depending on the discipline I don't think you have to always use the best for practice...
....when shooting the SMLE with open irons, I find the Privvi (when batch weighed) bullets quite good - Luckily the load I'm using seems interchangeable with both Privvi and SMKs (which give a slightly better group)...so 34p a bullet for comps, but only 16p a bullet for practice...
