The Luger Rifle

#1 Post by Dangermouse »

For me this is a new story, I am sure there will be others on the forum who will also not have seen the concept before and would be interested to see this:

You need to read the comments at the bottom as there is more information there in.

Interesting and one of the comments mentioned the Farquar-Hill rifle which is a fascinating 303 Semi Auto from the WWI time.

Another interesting idea I have only read about is the Penderson device:-

A simple idea to turn every service rifle into a semi-auto overnight.

Designed to fit the M1917 amongst others. Worthy of further research I think :good:

This is an interesting site as well http://www.forgottenweapons.com/ I particularly like this site as it has some very detailed cutaway views of rifle parts.

Joe, as you've stated the month and year the article appeared in a long defuct magazine, I presume you have the issue? If so, you now have to scan and post it as you can't just leave it there!!! sign01
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

How cool was that Farquar-Hill?!! :shakeshout:

So, the vertical fore-grip, a Brit idea going back 100 years? Somewhat like when Jeff Cooper admitted that the Scout Sling was a Brit idea with the SMLE.......!

And don't mention .280 British....

Got to admit, in the days of Guns Review, I only bought it for the adverts and prices. I bought Guns and Ammo for articles on new guns! I imagined that GR was for old men that smelled of cosmoline and linseed oil........ I Bugger, I've nearly turned into one........ ****

I thought it was more Rangoon oil and linseed oil my self, one of its main attractions along with great editorial integrity and authoritative, knowledgeable writing.

These are things todays quill scrapers know nothing about, they are sycophant scribes who will Image and fellate anyone who will pay them. And they call journalism a "profession", it makes you want to Image all over them with contempt. Trouble is they would probably enjoy it.

Hows the elbow BTW?
