Wood Goes to War - making a No 4s woodwork

This clip was found by a poster on the American Gunboards forum; I thought I'd share it here. Its quite a long silent movie of a Scottish furniture manufacturer H. Morris & Co who have gone over to the production of the woodwork for the Lee Enfield No. 4 (and some p14s?). Fascinating especially if you own a No. 4.

I was horrified to see the industrial accident waiting to happen to the bloke moving the trolley full of wood and amused to see that the guy cutting the blanks has lost his index finger at some stage! Noteworthy that most of the workers are older men and women.

Well worth the 15 minutes or so.

Nice find, thank you for posting it, I just skimmed it very quickly and will go back and have a proper look a bit later. The page also took me to some additional films which I will take a look at.
