A good day

#1 Post by pe4king »

Well its that time of year for filling up a few slots on my ticket, the main thing I was looking for was a No5 Jungle carbine, I actually found one on GT for £300 I couldnt believe it and it was only 45 mins away, I phoned up and some bas **** beat me to it. I was gutted, anyway I got a phone call a day later, asking was I still interested (has a fish got a waterproof head) anyway needless to say I went for a look, the chap was giving up and said he had a few other bits, :shakeshout:
I walked away with a very cheap and nice No5 carbine.
A Yugo Mauser K98 well used mostly matching but nice and originally German.
250 rds of 7.92 surplus.
A K98 cleaning Kit.
A K98 original sling.
110 rds of .303 Mk7 surplus.
All for the price of your average Jungle carbine, Oh and a kin big grin on my face party2

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I've been eyeing that Jungle Carbine up for awhile (along with a 1902 Lee Enfield Carbine, NZ contract)

It just seemed too good to be true at 300, but I'm glad it was true!
