CAD wizards...

#1 Post by meles meles »

Are there any silencer / moderator owners out there who are a wizard with a CAD package? If so, we have a small favour to ask...

I have a moderator and use Sketchup for my 3D work if you are really stuck....

What i am looking for is an accurate CAD model of a silencer that can then be imported into a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) package and used to model gas flow and sound pressures. It needs to be an accurate model in 3D of an existing silencer so that once the CFD model is complete it can be compared with real life - ie does it truly predict the performance of the existing silencer. Once it does, the model can then be used to design a better silencer...

I have SolidWorks Pro on the works laptop. I can either send you the native SW files or I can give you an IGES model if that's any good.

Edit to say, don't have any mods here though! Although so long as I had some dimensions, specs I could still draw it.

Hmmm, for the first stage it has to be representative of a real silencer...

Like I said, I don't have any mods here at the moment. However, if you could get some measurements (or an off ticket SAK etc to measure or copy from) etc then I would happily draw it for you.
