4x2 Cleaning Cloth.

I wonder if any of you good folks would know where I could get my hands on a roll of 4x2 cleaning cloth. Reason I ask is a very good friend of mine is into the re-enactment scene big time as a WWII British Soldier and he has been looking for this all over the States. I told him I would ask around on here. It's his birthday in June and it would be nice if I could get some and present it to him at his coming birthday party.
Cheers

I should have a spare roll kicking about. I'll have a look once I get back from taking my son to his Ice Skating training.
My life wouldn't be worth living if I started to rummage around for it at this time of the morning!

I've got some in stock, PM your address and I'll send a roll over, FoC of course.
From my brief flurries with the military experience in my youth I seem to recall that 4x2 was originally made to be used in boxing rings as I saw far more of it in gyms than I ever saw cleaning rifles. :G

Christel, it's made of flannel. We used to use it for rifle cleaning when I was in the Army, don't know if they still use it or not. Here's a pic of some.

Hell mate 4x2 used to get used for everything when I was in. I even remember using it to clean everything but weapons. 4x2 was always a favourite with the REME Vehicle Mechanics for cleaning engine parts. Great stuff the old 4x2.

You should see the price they charge re-enactors for stuff like that. They seem to forget it is still made for real shooters and isn't antique left over from the war.

The red line was introduced into the roll so that soldiers would not put too large a piece on their pull through and jamb it in the barrel.
The last roll I bought seemed to be linen more than flannel and an inferior product.
Sign of the times I suppose.
