I wonder if any of you good folks would know where I could get my hands on a roll of 4x2 cleaning cloth. Reason I ask is a very good friend of mine is into the re-enactment scene big time as a WWII British Soldier and he has been looking for this all over the States. I told him I would ask around on here. It's his birthday in June and it would be nice if I could get some and present it to him at his coming birthday party.
I've got some in stock, PM your address and I'll send a roll over, FoC of course.
From my brief flurries with the military experience in my youth I seem to recall that 4x2 was originally made to be used in boxing rings as I saw far more of it in gyms than I ever saw cleaning rifles. :G
Come on Bambi get some
Imperial Good Metric Bad
Analogue Good Digital Bad
Christel, it's made of flannel. We used to use it for rifle cleaning when I was in the Army, don't know if they still use it or not. Here's a pic of some.

Hell mate 4x2 used to get used for everything when I was in. I even remember using it to clean everything but weapons. 4x2 was always a favourite with the REME Vehicle Mechanics for cleaning engine parts. Great stuff the old 4x2.
You should see the price they charge re-enactors for stuff like that. They seem to forget it is still made for real shooters and isn't antique left over from the war.
