variation question

#1 Post by Dellboy »

Just about to put in for a variation for a fox gun (and range use)
someone suggested i put in for 22 centrefire which would cover me for 22magnum 22 hornet 222 223 234 obviously only one of them but it would make shopping easier
is this possible ?

Depends on your force, in theory it's fine but some want specific calibre and action etc..

Another member here just waited about 2 months to finally get a variation from 22wmr to .204 as "it's not on the list for fox and vermin", other forces grant it without question.

22 Centre fire wouldn't cover you for 22 Magnum as it is a rim fire (a 234?), but for the rest yes.

It depends on your Force if they'll allow it, mine does. :shakeshout:
I have authority to acquire .22CF, .25 and .45 calibre rifles. Tower75 successfully asked for 7.5mm and 8mm rifles from his force.

If you look at the form it asks for calibre and not cartridge - it's up to how good your argument is and if your force will listen, good luck! fingerscrossed

If you're in no rush just send in for a ".22" and see if they get back to you asking for more detail, mine didn't. If not, buy what you like!
