Warwickshire Police: credit where it's due

#1 Post by meles meles »

Having heard all sorts of horror stories regarding the length of time it can take to get a variation issued, I think it's only fair to put the other side of the story and congratulate Warwickshire Police for the speed and efficiency of their service. I posted my FAC and a variation request to them on Monday morning, advising them of a recent purchase and requesting 5 more slots to be added to my certificate too. They phoned me on Wednesday to ask why I wanted 5 new slots, we had a quick chat about my needs, and my new certificate arrived back today - total time elapsed, including postage in both directions, 5 days.

WELL DONE !

Good result both in turn around and the new slots. So what are you going for next?

Well, I now have slots for:

3 x .22" rimfire
1 x .45" ACP (moderated)
1 x 7.62 mm
1 x 6.5x55 mm

The 6.5 x55 is already spoken for - I have a Norwegian Krag Jorgensen set aside for me, and the .45 ACP is destined for a de Lisle clone.

That leaves the 3 rimfire slots and the 7.62 to be filled... I tend to go for more older and / or unusual guns rather than anything new.

Aye, wait until the cull starts. He won't be laffing then! :0037:

Seriously, good result! :P
