This is why I laugh when people talk about how weak or strong particular actions are e.g. "I won't shoot that because it's essentially a .308 design that has been stretched to accommodate .338, I'll only shoot rifles purpose-built from the ground up for the magnum calibers."

Why are they lunatics? They seemed to be taking it easy and firing it from a safe distance - just in case.

Lunacy, would have been loading it up and firing from the shoulder without testing the theory first!
