scopes

Im considering a new scope for general purpose on a hard hitting 270cal rifle , i have pinned it down to simmons VFM

....... so should i go > pro hunter or aetec , whats the diffrence please?
or anything in this price range you recommend ? I generally use burris but they are way out of my range now @ £370+........ :G

Wait until you can afford something decent and affordable such as a Meopta. Forget the Simmons and Burris as you will be dissapointed with both of them on a stalking rifle.

No offence mate, but i wouldn't wipe my arse with a simmons. Cheap tat that'll only let you down and prove useless in poor light conditions.
Burris aren't much better.
I recommend you pop over to the Mcleods of Tain website and browse the 2nd hand optics available. Alternately browse some of the forums classifieds sections. I recently picked up a mint Schmidt & Bender 10x40 for £350

Leupold VXI 3-9x50 for £190 ono
Zeiss diatal za 6x42t for £300
New-still in box Minox za5 3-15x50 for £475
New-still in box Minox ZA5 2-10x40 #4 reticle for £400

the only problem is every time I look at their website all I see is expensive scopes :( albeit at good prices for what they are, I suspect this may be blowing the OP's budget .

guys, im always on the look out for a good deal..... The burris have proved good , must say in the past.
