On-line reloaders log book.

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

I just found this and ended up signing up.

http://www.reloaderslog.com/

Braden says:
Well, actually "Us" is just me, Braden. I have been reloading for a few years now and enjoy it as a hobby aswell as the minor economical benefits. My full-time job is a Web Application developer for a company in New Zealand.
I have used spreadsheets and paper for keeping track of my reload data, but always wanted a full database to handle the job for me. So after a bit of development time, here we have ReloadersLog.com.
I hope this site will be of use to all types of shooters, from beginners to benchrest
I say, worth a look, it is very early days by the look of it and could be handy way of recording load data. The obvious question is will he charge for using the database at some point and how well is the site backed up! If nothing else you can access your data via your 'smart phone'

Hi All (Braden Here),
Yes it is early days - The site has only been up about 2 weeks - I would like people to register to begin testing it, as you will notice, anyone that registers before Jan 01 2012 will get a full Premium account for life (or the life of the site)

Just to answer some of your questions ovenpaa:
The Free part of the site will always remain free - it gives you full access to manage your reloading data - load setups and range results - the premium part is/will be the management of inventory / costings and a few other things - go to http://www.reloaderslog.com/AccountFeatures.php to see.

The site is also backed up every day - the host is dreamhost which is a managed web site hosting facility - so there is their backup aswell. All passwords are stored in a one-way excrypted format within the databases, so they are pretty secure (even I don't know what they are) - although we suggest you use a seperate pasword to your others.

If anyone has any questions and/or suggestions please either ask here or via our contact form (you can also follow us on twitter) - I am only too pleased to answer.

Thanks again to openpaa for mentioning us

Welcome to the forum Braden :good:

I did not realise subscription to the premium account is free until start of next year, I need to take a closer look when I get a break from the shed and life. I did think of a couple of things last night that could be changed/added however I will try with a few more loads before updating you on my thoughts, it could just be me missing things.

Any Suggestions would be helpful.
The problem is that reloading data has a lot of actual data and its putting it in a way that is both streamlined for adding and obvious to the user. Hopefully I'll get time to put a video together in the next few weeks on adding loads and range results - Unless of course there are better changes/suggestions that reuire a change in the sites flow.

I'm currently working on the reporting side - so people can see which loads perform best in which rifles etc.

Thanks again for your time

The adding loads and range data is intuitive and easy to use however it would be handy to add part data for range reports, so log the range date and data an then fill the final results in when you get back to a PC, that way you could effectively plan range testing, the ability to incorporate ladder loading would be interesting although I have no idea how you would do that in a way that suited the needs of all.

Yep - I was thinking about the ladder stuff aswell - still mulling it over in my head how it should be done.
The part data for range results would be as easy as ONLY making the Range Name and Date Mandatory instead of most of it now. Then down the line I could make a report that shows what you will be testing at the range in the future.

@Robin128
Glad to be here - I'm sure I will be asking some stupid questions on this forum, so please excuse my newbie-ish-ness
