These are French? I have seen them advertised but know nothing about them other than I have seen some serious claims accuracy wise.

Looks a very serious bit of kit but a bit out of my price range unfortunately.

French, yes, designed by Gilles Payen in the eighties.
Ultima Ratio = .308
Hecate = .50 BMG

Gilles designed it from his BR action.

Accurate, yes, but compaes in that wirh other tacticals.

Bolting is via a barrel insert ectension (a la Sportco) clampd in the frame. This makes the barrel easily interchangeable and this is favoured by french shooters to turn the regulation distinction between military (1rst category) and civilians (5th caegory) calibres.

Magazine is a single row 5 shots (Krico model)

Looks very similar to a rifle i got to shoot during an alpine course, years ago. Course was run in Germany and attended by a few nations - even the Polish attended. We spent one day 'familiarising' with each others kit before the course commenced.

That was a great course.

PGM are in service in the French army but also in the Bundswehr, Suisse and Polish ones in addition to some other eastern & Baltic countries.
