Re: Zeiss Scopes How They Are Made
From the old Full-Bore site
I have a Zeiss Diatal 6x42 scope. Had it for donkeys years. Used it in the pouring rain, after shooting I cleaned rifle and scope and put it away.
next time out I was appalled to see that there was some misting in the lens. No problem thought I. It has a thirty wear warranty. And so it did
Five years... Parts and labour.. twenty years parts only. Scope was sent to Germany. Zeiss wanted £300 to fix it. I told them no thank you. The misting has never re-appeared. The scope now does not go out in the rain.
I guess the moral of the story is .... Read the small print.
