Buying ammunition (in or around Yorkshire)

#1 Post by Sonofsammo »

Apparently my FAC will be delivered this week, so my thoughts have turned to procuring some ammunition to go along with my new rifle.
Do most people buy locally? I'm assuming this will be the best way forward as transport costs would negate any discount from buying further afield?
If that's the case, where's best to buy in Yorkshire?
Is it a case of just looking up everyone's price list and going from there, or are some generally cheaper than others?
I'm struggling to find and guidance on this, so any help would be much appreciated.

Always best to shop local and support your local RFD.

Service counts more for me than mere price.

Valid point.
But I have to travel to get to any RFD, as there aren't any near me.
So it seems logical to start with where's cheapest and go from there.

If you are in a club ask the other members where they buy.

I'm surprised you have not heard of them, occasionally I have popped up from Surrey for bits so you would have no problem popping in, they are in Pudsey.

Guess it depends where in Yorkshire you are, but Henry Kranks are in Pudsey Yorkshire.

Great minds think alike Dan.

Maybe check if they deliver, there is a local rfd close to me that seems to just do a delivery service.

Ammunition is becoming difficult to get according to RFD friends, particularly target. You may find you’re travelling purely to obtain the stuff.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Just Google "gun shops" or "RFDs near me" and you should find a few
