Mannlicher M95
I have had this rifle for getting on for 30 years. It is a Mannlicher M95 chambered in 8x56R. It has the original barrel from 1917 but was re-chambered in the 1930s from 8x50R to 8x56R. The bore is very good and is quite accurate. It shoots very high though. The ammunition I am using is Bulgarian, made in 1940. It came in sealed tins and looks and shoots like new even though it is 80 years old.

Re: Mannlicher M95
That is nice, is it loaded with En-Bloc clips as the earlier 6,5x53R was?
Re: Mannlicher M95
It seems I can only post three pictures in one post. A couple more of the rifle and the ammo.
The ammo pic is from a few years ago. The open tin is now empty but I have since bought a new full tin of 250 rounds. Regards

The rifle uses en-bloc clips. Fortunately I managed to acquire a few of them some time ago.

Nice looking rifle. Don't see many, especially of the long rifle. I've got a carbine that's still in the original 8x50R.

Hello
Do you only shoot the mil surp, have you tried casting lead, I know that Lee have a mould listed in their inventory.
Can you purchase FMJ I tried some time ago and could not find anything as 8mm .323s are a bit small.

Mauserbill, I usually use the milsurp ammo as I have quite a bit of it. I stocked up to my 1000 round limit when it was available. It started out at £18 per hundred and went to £25 per hundred the last time I bought some. I did buy some cast .329 bullets to use in it but never got round to it. They are still in the bag in a drawer.

My M95/30 was probably my favourite milsurp, unfortunately I had to give it up once my eyes and iron sights no longer were compatible...loved the muzzle flash and the concussion that the Bulgarian ammo produced.

An elderly gentleman at my club uses an iris that clips on his glasses and allows him to shoot very well with iron sights, he says it vastly improves his sight picture and allows him to carry on shooting rifles he wouldn't be able to without it.Sandgroper wrote:My M95/30 was probably my favourite milsurp, unfortunately I had to give it up once my eyes and iron sights no longer were compatible...loved the muzzle flash and the concussion that the Bulgarian ammo produced.
