24th of September, app is live
The app is live from today, something that puzzles me slightly though, I have an boing with 12 or something OS, when I go to download the app it tells me that only 13 or higher will work, when I go to the NHS website it says 11.
I can't download it as I am on 12 - what to do?
Oh also my boing says I am up to date.

My old boing downloaded it fine today. Check for updates on your phone, that may be the problem.

For full functionality the app requires the Apple/Google bluetooth logging system.
This is built into the phone operating system, and only available for iOS 13.5 and later,
It means that you need an boing 7 or newer for it to work. (boing 6 was discontinued 5 years ago, apple generally supports devices for 5 years, the last version for an boing 6 was 12.4.8, released 7/2020).

.Exposure Notification is compatible with devices supporting Bluetooth Low Energy and running Android 6.0 "Marshmallow" and newer, or iOS 13.5 or newer.

Re: app threads
This is odd, I started a thread on covid apps just over a week ago and it was deleted.
Here we are a week later and there is a brand new thread on covid apps!
I only say as I don't understand the rational of deleting posts and having similar posts in such a short time frame.

Your post was removed because you provided a link with insufficient explanation as what it was.

So just delete the thread rather than remove the link.
That choice of action comes across as stifling conversion on this sub forum, because as I say here we are very soon after having another discussion about covid apps.
Here's a link with content covering the in's and out's on covid apps:
In fact, no I won't bother posting up links.

Mine's an boing 6s. Currently on iOS 13.6.1. Installed the app no problems and it says it's working.strangesam wrote:For full functionality the app requires the Apple/Google bluetooth logging system.

The forum rules state that unexplained links will be removed. Nothing to do with stifling debate just encouraging you to abide by the forum rules.DL. wrote:dromia wrote:Your post was removed because you provided a link with insufficient explanation as what it was.

Removing the link from your post would have left it just as meaningless as it was with the link.
