Vacancy

The NRA has an upcoming vacancy for a Firearms Liaison Officer.

The job involves processing visitor firearm permits, acting as referee for FAC renewals, advising members on firearms law as well as annual returns to the police.

This is a permanent part time position that can be done from home with regular visits to pick up mail. It averages at 15 hours per week and pays £10,000 per annum.

Bisley Live – NRA RCOs and coaches needed

Bisley Live, the Gun and Country Sports Show, will be held at Bisley from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October. Further details about the show can be found at http://www.bisleylive.com and we will be sending out further information shortly.

The Show will need qualified NRA RCOs and coaches to help run this event. These positions will be paid at a rate of £100 per day.

So if you are a current NRA member, have a Certificate of Safety and Competence, hold a current NRA RCO qualification or are an experienced and competent coach and are willing to help, please contact Guy Larcombe at southern@nra.org.uk with your details.

Civil Service Sports Council – New Membership Criteria

The CSSC have recently opened up membership to all Public Sector workers to include members of HM Armed Forces, teachers, NHS workers, police officers, fire-fighters, local government officers and many more, including colleagues that have retired on pension from those areas.

The CSSC TR Team have two matches each year, the Services Pentangular Match and a match against the Combined Services. The CSSC SB Team also have two matches against Middlesex and Devon. Participation in these matches is free to team members and there is also assistance with travelling expenses.

There is a TR Championship in October consisting of a Queens II & III, to which entry fees are heavily subsidised for CSSC members. The SB Championship is in April at Hendon RC and consists of a double Dewar, entry is free to CSSC members.

The CSSC Target Shooting Association organises a wide range of postal competitions for .22” rifle at all distances and positions including Bench Rest and also competitions for air weapons.

Interesting job - part time and reasonable pay, work from home, even better. Oh and be ready to commute to Bisley at least 2 or 3 times a week, hardly home based.

How did you think you would get the renewal paperwork and VFP forms????

It's hard enough to get post to us without getting lost let alone sending it on again. Then there's the trips to Mount Browne in Guildford when there's a panic job on........
