Locating Swedish Mauser m96 Front Sight Blades
Hello I am hoping someone can help me.
I’m looking for original front sight blades for a Swedish Mauser m96 from a supplier in England. The sight blade that I have on the rifle has been filed down too much so I’m looking for a selection of originals so that I can change on the range. I can locate them in America but the postage is very expensive.
Anybody got any ideas?

You could try DS solutions, but I don't recall seeing anything Swedish on there. Also, check out the Swedish eBay website, there might be some available on there (found a Finnish sling for my Mosin Nagant on the Finnish version of eBay).

Thanks for that I'll give it a try

As they are difficult/expensive to source, I would build up your existing blade and then file it down incrementaly to find the height that gives you your desired POI. You will then only be looking for one blade.

Thanks for that TomH, I was thinking along the same lines myself but I could not think of a substance to use that I could file down easily at the range and stay firmly fixed to the sight blade. Any ideas?

I recently asked the same question about my LBR foresight... Miliput came back as an answer... I ordered some for £4.19 from the 'bay

Yes that or JB Weld which would certainly do the job and be easy to file. Comes down to what you've got or can get hold of easily.Daryll wrote:I recently asked the same question about my LBR foresight... Miliput came back as an answer... I ordered some for £4.19 from the 'bay

With modern adhesives it might to possible to bond a metal piece to the top of the sight when you know the dimensions, if you can't get hold of the preffered solution in a replacement blade. Depends on your metalworking skills.TomH wrote:Daryll wrote:I recently asked the same question about my LBR foresight... Miliput came back as an answer... I ordered some for £4.19 from the 'bay

Thanks Daryll and TomH I'll get some and give it a go but I won't give up my search for the original blades if the price is right. If I can get the height correct using epoxy at least I will know what size original blade I'm looking for. Thanks again for your help.
