The Schmidt Rubin 1911 - Happy Christmas to me
I found this languishing in a shop today, the Viking got involved in some harsh negotiating and home it came :)
Built very late 1917, I have some dies and hopefully still some brass so I have a feeling it will dragged out for our traditional Christmas day test shoot at the range.

Very nice rifle Dave
I was looking at a carbine version at my club shop last weekend which looked nice.

Well it has been stripped, cleaned and checked and I have a box of cleaned and sized once fired brass and some dies ready to be loaded. Now I just need to decide on what bullet to use, I have some old SMK Palma and some Lapua Scenar 155 or 170 LB to use, I might even have some spitzer somewhere. Whatever I use it will be a very steady load as I doubt it will go out beyond 300m.

scenars would be a good choice at 300m and GP11 would be a better choice at 1200 ! take it out and stretch its legsOvenpaa wrote:Well it has been stripped, cleaned and checked and I have a box of cleaned and sized once fired brass and some dies ready to be loaded. PS 48gns of RL17 and 174gn ppu bullet work fine in my K31 so should be a nice load in the G11
