If its's on Alba then I guess it will be in Gaelic which is a pity!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Should be a mixture of subtitles and English.Mike357 wrote:If its's on Alba then I guess it will be in Gaelic which is a pity!
If it is not avaliable down south, it might be on IPLAYER later.

Re: BBC Shooting Documentary
I thought this was poor. Factually inaccurate with poor quality people interviewed.
However it didn't demonise shooters which I suppose is a good thing.

As you say Mike it didn't demonise us, which I suppose being from the BBC is a bonus.Mike357 wrote:I thought this was poor. Factually inaccurate with poor quality people interviewed.

I think though that the statement about many mass shootings being conducted by a licenced gun holder, should have been countered by mentioning that around 100 Million people had been killed in the last century by people with government owned guns.
It's availiable on IPLAYER now.

How are things going on the airgun ban proposals?
Still got educated folks that think it is a good idea to licence them... :G ...just bring in the criteria for owning and using... if existing law is not good enough and then anyone caught breaking the law, eg age, criminal record etc, throw the book at them...no need or use for licencing especially when cuts are about.

With a license comes increased responsibility.
That responsibility hopefully means that you do not point the airgun at one of your mates and pull the trigger.
I am educated and I am all for licensing.

It is on restricted availability on IPlayer - through my PC I can receive it but I don't like watching there. On my television, there are just 8 programmes listed on IPlayer for ALBA - it probably detects that my region in London and does not give access.

Re: BBC Shooting Documentary
Sadly, airguns seem the irresponsible persons way to get into gun ownership. These people lack the social skills to be responsible for anything, getting a job, looking after their kids and owning an air rifle.
I read in the paper today that a dog walker in Glasgow was shot in a park by some idiot with an air rifle.
I don't know what the answer is but for all our sakes, something needs to be done.

Licensing won't stop their misuse. Replica guns have now been banned (with a licensing system of sorts for airsofters), but it's still almost every week I read in the local paper about police scrambling to a kid playing with a BB gun in the street or an 'armed robbery' with a gun that turned out to be a replica. Certain kinds of knives have been banned from sale for 30-50 years now but everytime there's a televised upturning of those amnesty bins they seem to be full of them.
Besides, registration always leads to confiscation sooner or later, you'd think we'd have learned that over the past 90 years of experience!
