Pump action rifles

Is there such a thing available? Would it be an answer to the silliness of 'straight pull' and 'lever release'?

They're section 5, pump action is only section 1 in .22 rimfire.

Yes there are some very nice pump-action rifles out there but as above, we're not allowed to have them unless they're in .22

We should think ourselves lucky the silly sods didn't think of lever guns at the time or they'd have been banned too In fact there's a rumour/urban legend that pump-action rifles weren't going to be included in the 1988 Act until someone mentioned how fast pump-actions can be used, although they were referring to pump-action shotguns, so they were added because of that. And then that cascaded to pump-action shotguns, allegedly by Douglas Hurd (a shooter himself ) came up with the idea of putting larger capacity shotguns on FAC

I think the lever action ban stopped short when it was pointed out that this would ban Martini-Henry's, Ruger No1's, most Rook rifles etc. none of which really fitted the assault weapon profile they were frothing about at the time.

In that case I had two of them!!

They were a rare beast but they were not never seen. Remington produced full bore hunting rifles, there were original 19th century Colt and Marlins, like mine and even IMI did a nifty little .357 chambered pump rifle.

Blimey Slim you must have brought a smile to the importer, can't remember if it was Parker Hale or Edgar Brothers at the time who said they'd only imported 10 or so Remington's. 760's I believe?

Yes I'd forgotten about the Colt lightings and Marlins, ironic that in some calibres potentially they are now antiques.

I was going to ask which film starring Charlton Heston featured a Remington pump action rifle but after checking it was a Remington 742 which was a semi-auto (but could apparently be converted to pump)
