Re: 6.5x55 Swede OAL
Using a 139gr GB458 Scenar my cartridge OAL is 3.150".
Re: 6.5x55 Swede OAL
In the Sierra manual I have it lists the OAL for 140gr SBT as 3.050", and max OAL for the cartridge in general as 3.150".
Is the 3.080" OAL with the ogive engaging the lands? It's common to start load development backed off the lands, which will decrease the OAL.

Re: 6.5x55 Swede OAL
I have a Tikka 690 in 6.5 Swedish Mauser. It is impossible to engage the landes with the 140 grain sierra bullet I use for stalking or the BT match bullet. The bullet would br completely clear of the case mouth. However the long "jump" of the bullet before engaing the landes does not appear to affect the accuracy. I simply seat the bullet, not including the BT, down to the depth of the case neck.
