He sold another one last week to a buyer in Australia. He followed the same procedure, shipped it to the centre in Derbyshire and waited for a signature to confirm delivery. As nothing arrived he called ebay yesterday. Not very helpful, said he'd have to claim after 30 days if he thought it had gone missing.
Today he received an email saying the transaction cannot be completed as it’s a restricted item. He also got a message from the buyer to say he had been refunded but didn’t know why. Bnz has been told he can keep the money but according to the “rules” the item will probably be destroyed.
Since when has a Parker Hale sight been a restricted item? The buyer said he has bought several from the UK, not restricted there or here.
Pitney Bowes, the Global Shipping agent, say that restricted items will be destroyed or possibly returned if the seller pays the cost. He would gladly refund the money if they will send it back. (The buyer still wants it). Bnz called ebay and they have now said someone from the shipping centre will contact him in 24-72 hours. By then it will probably have been destroyed.

Anyone else had similar issues? Did you get your items back?
