Off over the border for a week soon, any good shops, pay as you go ranges or other firearms related gubbins worth a visit not too far from kirkcudbright?
Suggestions for particularly good food and ale also welcome!

It's been a while since I've been there, but an old family favourite was the Anchor at Kippford, if you're feeling enthusiastic you can park in Rockcliffe, walk to the Anchor, have a nice lunch, then amble back again. Waterproofs essential, no matter what they forecast.
Careful now/that sort of thing

Remember there's no such thing as 'bad weather' in Scotland, just inappropriate clothing!

The John Paul Jones (father of the American navy) cottage is worth a visit and isn't too far from Kirkcudbright.

The porridge pot after Gretna Green on the A75 is somewhere I keep meaning to stop off at and yet to do, it's where they used to build all the artillery shells for the war
