One of the 4 candidates for Lincolnshire says what he thinks of G4S and what he would like to do about renewing the G4S contact.

UKIP PCC candidate for Hants & IOW is a license holder, just saying.

Interesting piece on UK Shooting News about how number of license holders could potentially outweigh incumbents majorities.

The Conservative chap has came back more or less straight away and said that he thinks the current legislation is too restrictive and that he is sympathetic to the shooting community :good: He was obviously going to say that considering the way I phrased the email but still anyone would be better than the Labour guy in at the moment.

The article I posted about the UKIP candidate was all I could find about her apart from official stats like attendance, hence posting it.

I did email her but as of yet has had no reply.

The other two, no email address for the Independent and the last one is Labour.

Replies from Kent candidates so far

Dear Pete

Many thanks for your email.

There are serious problems with firearms licensing delays in Kent, and I am disappointed that the current Commissioner is using her personal (and unrelated) opinions to try and cover up for her failure to hold the Police to account on this matter. No other force is having the same problems, and we do not process the most applications in the country,

For me, this is a simple. Kent Police has a legal duty to process firearms licences and they should do so efficiently and effectively. Kent residents are trying to comply with the law and they are presently being let down. I will identify the resources needed to speed things up and I have already been making representations on behalf of residents to the Chief Constable in order to help individuals get their licences sorted.

I can assure you that I am behind you on this.

Kind regards

Matthew

Dear Pete,

Thank you for your email. Firstly I would like to acknowledge the failings of the service that has been provided by the Kent Firearms department. It is unacceptable and if I am elected I will seeking reassurances from the Chief Constable that the business processes are reviewed.

I want to put a better and more effective service in place to provide a efficient service to the people of Kent. I will do this by better use of technology and making the website more accessible with electronic forms. I would also aim to make the process less bureaucratic and more streamlined so you get a quicker service then you do now.

I hope this goes some way to answering your concerns.Feel free to call me in the office on 01474 369329.
Kind Regards,
Gurvinder Sandher

Oh ? Have a quick word with the fish people. If you tell Alex and Nicola that the sassenachs now have the right to commission crimes we're sure they'll demand something even better in Scotia, and even let us pay for it....
