IOR Scopes

#1 Post by sharps4065 »

A friend of mine is considering an IOR Scope. I have no experience of them to advise. So what does communal wisdom think about them? Especially for long range work.

I shot a PSL fitted with a IOR & it was as good as the original Soviet scope .
IOR's regular issued binoculars are also very good so they are, IMO, capable of making good optics.

I've looked through a few, very good glass, built like tanks, a good choice depending on ret for your mates intended use.

They have Schott glass and are very well built and capable 'scopes. Christel uses her 6-24X IOR to 1200 yards to great effect. My view is they are robust, they are also heavy, the turrets are very positive in operation and they are the sort of thing you could happily remove and club baby seals with if you were so inclined.

Becoming a bit of a recurrent theme David ...
Is it some sort of private vendetta or are you in the process of making a fur coat on the cheap for your beloved ?

I have the 4 - 28 Tactical and wouldn't swap it for anything else.

Its great value for money and I think its come down in price in the past year or so.
