Mrs 20series has her own toy

Well my wife Debs has taken to shooting a bit and has got a bit bored with plinking with the .22 CZ we got for our son. So having tried the clubs .223 we decided to try and find something suitable.

I did a bit of research and decided that one of the Mossberg MVP's would fit the bill nicely, 1-9 twist, utilising AR magazines and a nice laminated stock.

Anyway having spoken to York guns at the shooting show it wasn't likely we'd see one anytime soon as the Mossberg factory can't make them quick enough for the US market let alone exports so we figured we'd wait. Anyhow one popped up on Guntrader a week or two ago second hand and we bought it, there is a bit an issue with the bolt face which will get sorted eventually but it's ok for a bit and well she seems quite happy with it

OK I'd better get back to the reloading bench as we're off to introduce Debs to Bisley next weekend for a bit of long range fun

I've got a .223 slot that needs filling and have been looking at these - I really want a detachable magazine and I've got a thing for Mossberg (it'll match my Mossberg 500) :-)

Not at all, picked up the rifle (second hand) with the standard supplied magazine, plus 2 pmags a cheap Hawke scope and bipod for £550, the current advertised price is £675 but there aren't any of this model (Varmint) about.

Well done that man! I know that the Yankee dankee's rave on about this in the US and you got one at a good price.

I think there are some of the Synthetic stock versions about which have adjustable cheek pieces and 1/7 twist barrels.

I messed about with some loads using 69gn SMKs and have something looking promising,

I bought my wife a Mossberg Youth Model .243 for deer hunting (she's got short arms). It shoots really well.

Mossberg and Savage both are really good value for money.
