Turning a section 2 into a section 1
I'm hankering after one of the new Adler 110 lever action shotguns but it'd be three months before I can get my ticket back with a slot so I was considering ordering it in section 2 and then moving it onto my fac and getting the section 1 mag tube when the time comes.
Can anyone tell me the process for removing it from the shotgun certificate and putting it on my fac?

Write it on your FAC and tell the Police that you have done so.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Write to the police & if you have the FAC slot they'll move it over from the SGCsafetyfirst wrote:Can anyone tell me the process for removing it from the shotgun certificate and putting it on my fac?
I'd be more concerned on how easy the conversion process is....or isn't.
On some guns (i.e. Remington) it's a factory only job

You can pull the crimp out of a tube quite easily. I found an old LH S2 Rem1100 and made a S1 out of it quite easily. Took about and hour of persuading (read: light hammering) with the addition of a 'broom handle' to get/keep the profile.

Are they even available yet? If so where from?
As mentioned, you should check with the importer/manufacturer what sort of crimp etc has been put on the mag, whether you can undo it and keep the original, or if a complete new mag is required, and how/if it can be installed.

They're not in the country yet. Some are coming section 1 and some section 2. He's going to have a look at the section 2 job when they come in. I might just get a section 1. Thanks guys.

My understanding is that this can only be done by an RFD. Best check with your FEO.Mattnall wrote:Write it on your FAC and tell the Police that you have done so.

Correct Mr Triffid. CAN ONLY BE DONE BY AN RFD
Goes in S2 comes back S1 (how many more time's has this come up)
It might be simple to do, but not a DIY job.

Doesn't a Sect 2 magazine have to be permanently attached?

I'll get an rfd to do it and I'll check with my licensing dept first too. The tubular magazine on a shotgun can be said to be non detatchable I think.
