Re: Filling Range Bags
Most people tend to use rice. My bags were already filled so not sure what the filling media is and I've never bothered to check. If you're concerned about them getting damp why not fill up sealed plastic bags and use them to fill the rest?ellmerfudd wrote:Hi everyone, just bought a front and rear range bag and wondered what you all use to fill yours please, didnt want to use sand as already have loads of kit to carry, been told to fill with rice or cat litter but wondering about those if its damp. For the front rest definitely stay away from sand as this could cause stress on the seems and cause them to split.

Re: Filling Range Bags
I use wheat, but as I have a shed full of the stuff it was an easy choice.
Never had them get very wet and I empty them after each use so the damp is never an issue.

We have plastic pellets at work for the injection moulding machines and they are perfect, if the bag gets wet it doesn't rot like rice would.

I use small poly pellets/beads. They are light, totally waterproof and provide a very good filling. You can ram them in as tight as you want with a blunt pencil/dowel etc etc, just as you would with sand.ellmerfudd wrote:Hi everyone, just bought a front and rear range bag and wondered what you all use to fill yours please, didnt want to use sand as already have loads of kit to carry, been told to fill with rice or cat litter but wondering about those if its damp.
