Blank round?

#1 Post by Polchraine »

What is the legal position on possession of Live Blank rounds? Still crimped and unused?

Legal/illegal?

Not on my phone!

A friend has come into possession of a few - 7.62 s I believe, and I believe they are exempt but he has other advice saying they are not.

As far as i'm aware unless they were criminalised in the 2006 VCR act, they're legal as long as they're not more than 2" in diameter, so pistol/rifle calibre blanks are fine to have. If you're stopped and found with them on you i'd expect you'd have to provide a 'good reason' to keep them, even though they're not illegal
